Prince Edward County, ON — March 17, 2025
Two individuals were arrested after a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program traffic stop in Prince Edward County led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, drug-related items, and approximately $1,600 in cash, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Incident Details
On March 13, 2025, at around 1:00 a.m., OPP officers conducting the RIDE program at the intersection of Highway 62 and County Road 3 observed a vehicle attempting to avoid the checkpoint. Police initiated a stop and subsequent investigation. (napaneetoday.ca)
During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered suspected cocaine, additional drug-related items, and roughly $1,600 in cash. The seizure is considered a significant disruption of potential drug distribution activity in the area.
Arrests and Charges
The following individuals were arrested and charged:

Anthony Marini, 20, of Trenton — charged with possession of a Schedule I substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and driving with cannabis readily available.

Niah Babcock, 23, of Quinte West — charged with possession of a Schedule I substance and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Both suspects were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 2, 2025. (napaneetoday.ca)
