LIVIGNO, Italy — February 21, 2026 — Team USA remains the gold standard in mixed team aerials, led by a spectacular performance by Michigan’s Kaila Kuhn. The Boyne City native helped the American squad secure its second consecutive gold with a dominant score of 325.35. Kuhn’s individual jump—a “back-full-full-full”—earned a massive 94.44 score. “Northern Michigan is where I learned to fly,” Kuhn said. “The wind off the Great Lakes prepares you for anything Italy can throw at you.” The Science of Flight: Aerial skiers reach speeds of 40 mph before hitting a vertical ramp that launches them three stories into the air. In the Mixed Team event, teams consist of three skiers, with at least one from each gender, making strategic “jump selection” a high-stakes chess match between nations.
