The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid 63 Criminal Code charges against a 26‑year‑old man following an extensive investigation into intimate partner violence and child abuse in the Rideau Lakes area of Leeds County. The charges include attempted murder, sexual assault on a person under 16, sexual interference, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
Investigation Details
The investigation began on September 26, 2025, after police were alerted to serious allegations of violence and abuse. Over the following months, officers identified five victims, including minors, and gathered evidence that led to the comprehensive set of charges.
Police emphasized that the accused was part of a pattern of alleged abusive behavior, which prompted a multi-unit OPP investigation to ensure the safety of victims and the broader community.
Accused in Custody
The 26‑year-old remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville in February 2026. Authorities have not released the name of the accused to protect the identities of the victims.
